Situated in Poet’s Corner between the West Berkeley Design Loop and the International Marketplace District, Elegance Berkeley is designed to help the Bay Area’s active elders continue to contribute, participate and inspire future generations.

Offering a comfortable, supportive and accessible environment, this boutique community is GreenPoint Rated Gold and features a serene, mid-century modern-inspired aesthetic with natural wood and stone materials and a green living wall.

Day-to-day details are handled by a highly trained, informed and caring staff, so you have more time to participate in curated social, cultural and exercise opportunities, including continual learning and intergenerational arts programs. You’ll also enjoy seasonal, locally sourced, nutritious meals in a choice of dining venues.

Elegance Berkeley is part owned by local real estate developers and brothers, Ali Kia Shabahangi and Amir Kia, Principals of Spirit Living Group, who grew up in the Bay Area and went to UC Berkeley and the Graduate Theologian Union. Read more about how they got started here.

Well-Being

Our Philosophy

We believe a thoughtfully designed environment filled with good neighbors and a caring staff, along with nutritious food, accessible exercise programs and opportunities to connect and engage every day, are the right combination for optimal living.

For older people living alone, these important elements can become harder to maintain – making home a challenging, unsafe, even lonely place to be.

That’s why we offer a community for older people where living is easier, surroundings are safer – and together is better.
