Well-Being

Our Philosophy

We believe a thoughtfully designed environment filled with good neighbors and a caring staff, along with nutritious food, accessible exercise programs and opportunities to connect and engage every day, are the right combination for optimal living.

For older people living alone, these important elements can become harder to maintain – making home a challenging, unsafe, even lonely place to be.

That’s why we offer a community for older people where living is easier, surroundings are safer – and together is better.

My parents moved to Wentworth in 2014. My father has since passed but his favorite thing to do was to plant veggies in the earthbox they had on their patio while getting some fresh air.Recently my mother celebrated her 94th birthday the same... weekend as Mother’s Day. I figured it's about time I write a review about where my mom calls home. If I have forgotten someone or a department I apologize.Beth in nursing took the time to go over my mom’s medication list yesterday. Under the previous ownership no one had ever done that before.Cassandra has called me several times on my mom’s behalf even when I did not expect an update.I cannot say enough good things about all of the nursing staff. If not for them my nights would be sleepless worrying about my mom.Janine and Barb keep the residents very busy with engaging activities. I always see the residents smiling when I walk through the facility. I even enjoy spending time with them during the various activities they have planned throughout the day. My mom has her favorite activities she anticipates attending every week.Jesse and the kitchen staff ensure the residents have a great variety of tasty, healthy, and good quality meals. Jesse has made a special point to see that my mom eats every meal especially breakfast since she is not a morning person. The staff make me aware of anytime she does not eat or does not go down to the dining room. If they notice my mom did not go to the dining room they make sure to check on her.Housekeeping is also great. I visit my mom several times a week and every time her room and the facility are very clean. The team also makes sure that her laundry is done and that she has everything she needs.Raquel does an amazing job of keeping me updated on my mom’s health. Recently mom had a rough weekend and Raquel called me on Monday to give me an update. The front desk/reception team is sure to make everyone feel welcome and ensure that everyone follows the COVID-19 guidelines. If I ever need anything the front desk staff go above and beyond to assist me.Recently the facility got a new hair stylist. While the hair salon was under renovation the stylist made a huge effort to go to the resident’s room to provide hair services. My mom looks forward to seeing the hair stylist every few weeks. You might be aware that a change in ownership recently took place. Before the change in ownership the facility was good, now it is great. The new Executive Director Tracey keeps family members informed of all the events, changes, and COVID-19. She really takes the time to make sure family members are kept informed and she truly cares about the residents and staff. Never before had any director reached out to me or kept me updated on anything. A lot of money was also spent within the facility to update furnishings, art work, etc. This new ownership and staff go well above and beyond what is expected of them to make sure the residents are safe and happy. The facility is a great size and not overwhelming for the residents. Additionally, the staff to resident ratio is exceptional.Keep up the great work Wentworth!read more

I absolutely love Wentworth Central Avenue! From the time you walk into the door the receptionist makes you feel at home. She’s always smiling and making sure everyone gets where they need to go. The DHW and RCD are the best dynamic duo. They both... care greatly about the care of the residents. The caregivers and Med techs on each shift are very compassionate and irreplaceable. They all treat each and every resident in the facility like family. The Maintnence and House keeping Crew are even known in the facility on a first name basis! Unheard of right? Wentworth is family oriented nothing bad to say. The sales department is awesome very very reliable, flexible with tour times, and honest.read more

I have seen my sister's health and welfare improve considerably since being a resident at Wentworth one the past 1 1/3 year, This is due to the amazing care she receives from the Activities Staff that creates games & activities that makes life... interesting. From exercise class to jewelery making to learning new games to play (such as Bocce, Farkle, etc), her daily life improved. Barb & Janine make sure she is busy and show interest in her well being. She now assists other residents and feels needed as a member of her community. A winning combination!read more

Barb Wolford is a dedicated member of the activities department. She gets to know the residents, listens to their concerns & truly cares about them. We are so grateful she's there for our loved one in assisted living and believe she was essential in... helping her make the transition from independent living to assisted living. The activities department at Wentworth Central Avenue is fabulous with plenty of interesting things for our loved one to do to keep occupied and stay healthy and engaged. Jeanine, as the director is very creative and always coming up with new ideas. We're so appreciative of this.Another excellent employee is Drew who drives the van & takes patients to appts or on group trips to a restaurant or shopping. Back in 2018, my mother chose this place to live. She liked the idea of everyday meal making, laundry and cleaning done for her and of all the places she visited, she like this one the best. Here we are four years later and Mom is still happy. In... any assisted living community, there is always room for improvement, but overall, the meals are good, the staff is helpful, the building is bright and modern and management seems genuinely interested in the welfare of the residents. We like it.read more

My father-in-law has lived at Wentworth Central Avenue (formerly Brentwood Senior Living) for almost five years and we have seen a lot of turnover in terms of executive directors and staff. I am so pleased that Tracy Marx joined the community as... the executive director last fall. In just a few months, the frequency of communication and transparency about the facility, staff and residents has improved dramatically. A new director of health and wellness/nursing, Raquel Miley joined the team and took the time to call every residents' family to introduce herself and listen to any concerns and requests. Although we have seen many med techs and aides come and go, we are particularly grateful that Ronny Reyes and Chanta Jackson have been with the facility through the ups and downs and for the care they continue to provide my father-in-law.read more
