THE DAYPULSE APPROACH

Each day’s routine is structured around three distinct energy levels.

Memory loss often causes disrupted physical and mental daily energy patterns. Day and night cycles can be reversed, leading to poor sleep, apathy, anxiety and decreased appetite.

Our DayPulse approach to care and engagement programs adds structure and predictability to daily life, by providing a consistent daily routine based on the energy patterns of those living with memory loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is memory support and how does is it different than assisted living?

Memory support at Elegance at Lake Worth features many of the same services as assisted living, with specialized attention layered into every facet of daily life. From the way meals are served, to programs, to a purposefully designed environment, our memory support neighborhood is carefully curated to support residents with dementia. You can learn more about our approach, DayPulse, here.

What types of dementia can Elegance at Lake Worth accommodate?

Our care team will provide an evaluation of your family member and recommend care services based on their current needs. If our community isn’t the right place for your family, we’ll let you know and help you figure out some alternatives. To get more information, contact us.

What types/stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s does Elegance at Lake Worth accommodate?

Elegance communities can typically accommodate individuals in the early to middle stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Communities can support residents who experience mild to moderate memory loss, confusion, or disorientation and who require cues, supervision, and assistance with daily activities such as medication management, bathing, dressing, and meals. Residents should generally be able to participate in a structured environment and not require continuous skilled nursing care. Learn more about our approach here.

How do you assess whether my family member qualifies for memory care?

Every resident’s journey at Elegance at Lake Worth begins with a health assessment from our care team. They’ll review medical history, talk with your family member, learn from your experience, and put together an individualized care plan to help your family member thrive. We can share more details about this process during your visit, so schedule a tour today

How are your staff trained to care for memory support residents?

Training for memory support care begins with meeting all state-specific requirements, ensuring each team member is equipped with the foundational knowledge needed to safely and effectively support residents with cognitive loss. Beyond these requirements, many of our community leaders have pursued dementia care certifications or bring years of hands-on experience in memory support environments. We compliment formal training with real-time, on-the-floor coaching. Our leaders are actively engaged in guiding team members, helping them recognize resident needs, adapt approaches, and create supportive, person-centered environments.

What is your staff-to-resident ratio in memory care, especially at night?

Because we tailor our care to our residents’ needs, we’re able to staff up or down based on the assessed care needs of our residents. While that means we don’t have a one-size-fits-all ratio, it does enable us to provide residents with more meaningful staff relationships.

Do memory care residents have safe outdoor access?

Yes! We provide secure indoor and outdoor spaces that safely encourage independence.

How does Elegance at Lake Worth handle wandering risks or other safety concerns?

Our community is a safermore secure place for your family member to live and thrive than many home environments. We have round-the-clock staffing to assist residents at any time, 24-hour call system, and purposefully designed spaces to help support resident safety. For more specifics on our security protocols, feel free to contact us.

Are memory support programs available at Elegance at Lake Worth?

Yes! We are proud to provide our residents with innovative therapies and experiences to help limit cognitive decline and improve quality of life. These can include pet therapy, drum circles, art therapy, outings, and more. You can learn about our programming and therapies when you visit our community.

How do you help residents who forget to eat or have difficulty feeding themselves?

Our residents usually dine together to build community and encourage connection. We use vibrantly colored plates to make food more visible and offer adaptive dining equipment and modified textures to our neighbors who need them. Additional mealtime support is always available.
